Description of Mazahri | Zan Bead 18K Gold Necklace w. Lapis
The Zan Lapis Bead Necklace is crafted from tiny globes of old stock lapis from Afghanistan and solid 18k Fairmined gold Zan charms strung after each 11th bead, echoing the construction of traditional tazbehs, or Muslim prayer beads. Zan means "woman" in Farsi and is represented here by the rhombus shape which is traditionally used in Afghan and Central Asian design to celebrate women, femininity, fertility and creativity. It is a central motif used by Mazahri reinforcing our committment to women and women's empowerment.
